One place, one day and three organizers: Jonas Forth – MindClub, Annika Wiklund-Engblom – Edutainment and Lasse Norrgård – the AKO network.
Three events will merge on Tuesday May 19th at MediaCity. The day starts off at 10.00 with the AKO network seminar with insights into the creative field. Learning while having fun is on the agenda with the parallell Edutainment lecture and workshop by Danish lecturer Bente Meyer. MindClub starts at 17.00 with Robin Bade from Activeark and the whole day is wrapped up with good food and effective mingling.

A film testing session at iDTV Lab

"Finland's MediaCity, specialising in cross-media format development and user-experience research, and 4xM, which focuses on cross- and trans-media, have signed a MIPTV devlopment deal for edutainment projects. The deal will build on the success of MediaCity's cross-media format The Space Trainees, which goes into production in April for the Finnish broadcasting company."

What is your company's interface to social media? How does the social media change a company's web strategy? Jyri Engeström will talk about the social media as a part of company development work and marketing. Presentation in Finnish.
Jyri Engeström founded Jaiku in 2006, a micro-blogging service similar to Twitter (founded in 2008). Jaiku was purchased by Google in 2007, Jyri then has worked as product manager for Google.
Company Presentation: Creamarketing, Vaasa, Finland, will be presented by Kalle Smeds.
MindClub 26th October at 17-20, starting in Auditorium Bruhn (C 201). After the auditorium session the networking part starts, including mingling, snacks and drinks. Participants will be billed a fee of 25 euros/person.

To produce with a net community – Star Wreck, an example

are joining the lineup to talk about their experiences with their first feature
film, Star Wreck, and what they learned from working in collaboration with the
Internet community - and what they decided to bring along of the knowledge to
their next film, Iron Sky. Thoughts on collaborative filmmaking, internet
communities and new ways of financing and producing. Presentation in Finnish.
The feature film Star Wreck (starwreck.com) is the most seen film i Finland. It has been downloaded 8 million times from the net, and has evolveded to a successful product concept.

Also remember the challenge to create and upload an IIMPP (Innovative & Interactive Mobile Paper Presentation) of your research and ideas or views on user experience and enjoyment. This can be a video presentation, audio file, or similar audio-visual format, which will be downloadable. A regular conference paper may also be written to be included in the proceeding, if desired. However, there will be no ordinary paper presentations at the conference. Deadline for submitting the presentation is September 30th.
Eyes on UX registration
MediaCity is currently involved in a development project called ImageTestLab - Evaluating Brands on International Markets. The aim is to create a web based research tool for international brand management, promoting the competitiveness of Finnish export companies. The project is coordinated by the Western Finland Design Centre Muova and it is financed by Tekes (the Finnish Funding Agency for Technology and Innovation). The results of the project will be published in spring 2010.

MediaCity hosts the Armada pilot project which focuses on companies in the creative business sector. The pilot study explores the need for innovation and development support as well as IPR issues within these companies. The study is conducted in five different regions of Finland and is funded by the Finnish ministry of Education/ The European Social Fund.
